Temperature/ Rainfall
Australia's North West is a region of great contrast. Ranging in temperature from under 5 degrees celcius to over 40 degrees celcius in the course of a year. You will find that two distinct seasons offer vastly different holiday experiences.
SUMMER SEASON - November to April
Summer has less crowds, the days can be hot and the nights are balmy. The rain in the summer does not fall constantly; but in heavy, short downpours, lasting for halff-hour or so and this usually occurs late in the afternoon and evenings.
Expect great lightning shows and spectacular sunsets, Birdlife and wildlife abound. and fishing is at its peak! Many tours operate year round although some attractions cannot be accessed due to closed roads and local flooding. As with any holiday, it's a matter of planning and getting expert advice from any one of the region's Visitor Centres.
WINTER SEASON - May to November
The most popular time to visit, days are fine, with temperatures ranging from mid to high 20's. The nights range from cool with fresh breezes on the coast while inland the wind off the desert can see temperatures plummet to near freezing. The fine warm days create the perfect opportunity for outdoor activites.
