Getting to the Warlu Way
So now that you’ve decided to start your adventure, what’s the best way of getting there? Well, there are several options, depending on whether you’d like to take your time and meander, seeing sights along the way, or go directly to your destination.
By Road
If you’re visiting the Pilbara, access is provided by two major road arteries - the North West Coastal Highway and the Great Northern Highway.
Vehicle Hire
If you’d rather discover the Warlu Way at a more leisurely pace, to your own schedule, why not hire a vehicle and embark on a driving holiday of your own? You’ll find a full range of rental vehicles ranging from motor homes to four-wheel drives available at most major centres.
Guided Tours
There are a huge range of professional, friendly tour operators in Australia's North West. Why not join an organised tour - whether by land, air or sea. You can kick back and let the locals show you the sights!
Coach
Greyhound Coaches operate daily bus services that connect all major towns. To find out more, contact a Visitor Centre for a timetable or booking assistance.
By Air
Travelling to the Pilbara by air is easy and convenient with regular daily flights provided by national carriers Qantas Airways or Skywest Airlines; available to and from Exmouth, Karratha, Port Hedland, Tom Price (Paraburdoo) and Newman.
If starting or concluding the Warlu Way in Broome, Skywest, Virgin Blue and Qantas provide regular services from Perth. Qantas also provides direct Broome flights from Melbourne and Sydney as well as connecting flights from all capital cities. Virgin Blue provides a convenient direct weekly service between Adelaide and Broome. Regional Link (Air North) provides daily flights to Broome from Darwin and Kununurra.
As well as the major airlines, visitors can also access any number of local charter operators offering magical scenic charter flights and also regular transport services to town centres. To find out more, just enquire at a local Visitor Centre.
