Port Hedland
It’s oresome!

Located on the ‘island’ of Port Hedland the town site enjoys an interesting blend of lifestyles. It combines a unique history of indigenous, pastoral and mining influences. Port Hedland is situated on the traditional land of the Kariyarra People. The Kariyarra name for Port Hedland is Marapikurrinya (mara – hand, pikurri – pointing straight, nya – a place name marker) meaning where 5 tidal creeks begin.
